Peugeot 407 Facelift: Minor Changes

Rather than go through a full-size redesign, Peugeot preferred a light update for its 407 Sedan and Station Wagon models. Changes on the outside include the reworked grille upfront that's been enhanced with more doses of chrome along with the new headlamps and tail-lamps. Inside, Peugeot has enhanced the 407 with extra comfort equipment and in particular onboard temperature control and new telematics systems along with a new front parking assistance. -Continued

The only mechanical changes concern the updated 2.0-litre HDi engine which now 138Hp (103Kw), an increase of 4Hp or 3 kW. It also benefits from a fuel consumption of 5.6 litres/100km (42MPG) and CO2 emissions reduced to 150 g/km. Sales are expected to start in Europe over the next few weeks.

New Peugeot 408 Rendering

In its latest issue, French car magazine “Autoplus” is attempting to give us a preview of the forthcoming Peugeot 408 mid-size sedan that will replace the current generation 407. What looks to be more of a facelift of the 407 than an all-new model, the artist’s take on the 408 isn’t exactly promising especially in concern of the front end with the elevated grille that seems totally out of place. -Continued

New Peugeot 407 Coupe Bellagio

Taking its name from the famous luxury hotel in Las Vegas –ok, we’re just kidding, the new Peugeot 407 CoupĂ© Bellagio is a new derivative in the mid-size coupe’s UK range. Exclusively available in Flamenco Red or the new Nera Black metallic, the “Bellagio” is equipped with Peugeot’s no-frills 2.0-litre HDi 136 HP diesel engine. -Continued

Standard equipment levels exceed the ‘Sport’ model with a RT4 Multi Media System (that includes Colour Satellite Navigation (with European mapping), TMC (Traffic management information) audible GSM phone (with inbuilt voice activated hands free controls) & MP3 30GB hard drive for mapping and music storage function), 18” Galaxy alloy wheels (HDi 136 Sport models ordinarily take 17”) and twin chromed exhaust pipes. Prtices in the UK start at £21,995 which is about $43,100 or €29,500.
