Though the very famous Tata Motors have not made any official announcements on this, neither have they confirmed the reports but the news is that Tata Motors will be soon heading towards the Mexican market. Several significant officials from Tata Motors have already been to Mexico for some important discussions regarding the same. If all goes well, soon Tata Motors will be manufacturing Tata Manza, Tata Nano and Tata Indica Vista in Mexico market.
Earlier, Tata Motors had acquired a unit in South Africa. This was a manufacturing unit that was earlier owned by Nissan Motors Company. This was done by Motors in order to make its entry in the upcoming markets. Company’s Mexican move can be seen as yet another step to make a low cost entry in the newer markets.
One of the subsidiaries of Grupo Proeza is Metalsa. It makes various components for passenger as well as the commercial vehicles. Metalsa India Pvt. Ltd is the wholly owned subsidiary of Metalsa. It supplies the parts like chassis, oil pump etc to Tata Motors’ various trucks. Jamshedpur has its manufacturing unit.
